Terms of use
Using this site or joining the community means you accept what follows. If you don't, don't apply.
Who we are
Gator State Roleplay is a private, unpaid, fan-run roleplay community. It is run by volunteers. It is not a business, it is not a service you are buying, and nobody here is promising you anything in return for your time.
Age
You must be 18 or older to apply or to take part. If we find out someone is under 18, their account is removed. We don't ask for proof of age, so this relies on honesty — but lying about it is grounds for a permanent ban.
Not affiliated with Rockstar
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or anyone who owns Grand Theft Auto. All trademarks belong to their owners. You need your own legal copy of the game. Agencies, counties, ranks and callsigns used here are fictional and exist only inside the community.
Membership is a privilege
Staff may suspend or remove anyone, at any time, with or without a stated reason. You can appeal a decision, but there is no entitlement to a place here, to a rank, to a callsign, or to anything you built up in the community.
Nothing here is real property
Characters, callsigns, ranks, roles, vehicles, money and anything else inside the community have no real-world value and are not yours to sell. Buying or selling them for real money is forbidden and is grounds for a permanent ban.
Content you post
What you write in tickets, in Discord and in applications stays available to staff for moderation and record-keeping. Clips and screenshots you submit as evidence may be kept with the record they relate to. Don't post anything you wouldn't want a staff member to read.
The site itself
This site is provided as it is. It may go down, lose data, or behave unexpectedly. It is run on a small hosting account by people doing this in their spare time, and no uptime or backup is guaranteed.
Conduct
The community rules are part of these terms. They're on the rules page and staff cite them by number when they act on a report. Read them before you apply — the application assumes you have.
On top of the in-character rules, these apply everywhere, at all times:
- No harassment, slurs, or discrimination of any kind, in or out of character.
- No sexual content involving minors, in any form, ever. This results in a permanent ban and a report to the platform.
- No sharing anyone's real personal information without their clear permission.
- No attempts to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the site, the CAD, the bot or the Discord server.
- No using the community to advertise, recruit for, or organise anything unlawful.
Reporting. If someone breaks these, open a ticket with what you have — a clip, a screenshot, a time and place. Don't argue it in the scene; that ruins the night for everyone else and is its own violation.
Accounts and sign-in
Signing in uses Discord. We ask Discord only for your username, display name, avatar and account ID — the identify scope — plus permission to add you to the server when you apply. We never see your Discord password, your email, your other servers or your messages.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Sharing it, or letting someone else play on it, is treated as if you did whatever they did. Ban evasion with a second account is a permanent ban on both.
You can revoke our access at any time in Discord under Settings → Authorised Apps. That signs you out of the site; it does not delete your records.
Privacy notice
Plain version: we collect what an application needs, we keep it on our own hosting, we don't sell it, and staff are the only people who see it.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Discord username, display name, avatar and account ID | To know who you are, open your ticket, and link your records together |
| Your age | To check you meet the 18+ requirement |
| Timezone and when you usually play | To work out staffing and training times that suit you |
| Platform, and your gamertag, PSN ID or Steam ID | To find you in-game and confirm the right person |
| Your answers on the application | To decide on the application, and to refer back to it later |
| Your IP address at the time you applied | To catch duplicate and automated applications, and ban evasion |
| Roster, hours, certifications, leave and disciplinary records | To run the departments you join |
Where it lives
In a database on our own hosting, and in your ticket inside our Discord server. Discord's own handling of your data is covered by their privacy policy, not ours.
Who sees it
Staff. Department leadership see the records of their own people. Nobody outside the community is given access, and we do not sell, rent, or share it with advertisers or anyone else. We would only hand something over if we were legally required to.
How long we keep it
- Applications — kept while you're a member, and for a period afterwards so we can see a previous application if you come back.
- Roster, activity and disciplinary records — kept while you're a member and after you leave, since they're the history of the department.
- Ban records — kept indefinitely, because a ban that can be erased isn't a ban.
- Tickets — archived in Discord rather than deleted.
Cookies
One session cookie, so the site remembers you're signed in. No advertising, no analytics, no third-party tracking. Clearing it signs you out and does nothing else.
Your choices
Open a ticket in the Discord server and ask if you want to:
- See what we hold about you.
- Correct something that's wrong.
- Have your records removed when you leave.
We'll do what we reasonably can. Two honest limits: we can't remove a ban record or a disciplinary record while it still matters to the community, and anything you posted in a shared channel stays in that channel's history.
Changes to this page
We'll update this when things change, and the date at the top changes with it. Carrying on using the site after that means you accept the new version.
Questions? Open a ticket in the Discord server. A real person reads it.
